Science Rocks

Part of my teaching philosophy is that every child can learn and they can have fun doing it! My students use their brains and their hands to figure out problems. I want each of my students to leave my class loving school. I also want them to challenge themselves to do their best and push the limits of learning. I use several different resources for my science lessons to get the students excited about the topics. I am very excited to get to meet my new class!

Hi There!

What a great day! We had a great time learning about food webs today. Ask your child to tell you all about it.

What's going on in science...

In 5th grade, we have been learning about ecosystems and food webs. Tomorrow, we will be talking about what happens when over population or other changes happen to ecosystems.  I wore the kids out with decomposer tag. So much fun!

A New School Year Starts!!!

Wow! I can't believe a new school year is upon us. I am excited about getting to know my new students and their families. Back to School Night was a huge success. I had at least 15 students from my homeroom and a few of my old students come visit me. I love my job!!!

Water Week

We have been studying water properties and the water cycle this week. I feel like my students have a great grasp on this unit. Next week, we will tackle our weather unit. Looking forward to seeing my students test scores on Friday!

Makey Makey in the classroom! Making a complete circuit to interact with our computers. We are also working on coding programs so that we can make our own video games. Technology rocks!
